Ray,

The attached pictues of the Onion Valley Pack Station, I think that was the name. My aunt and uncle bought the station from Archie Dean around 1954. The woman in the pictures is my grandmother, Velda Hutchen. Velda's horse was named "Buddy." She conducted trips out of Onion Valley, Reds Meadow, and Kersarge. My Mom and Dad helped run the ranch and pack station until around 1957 when my Dad moved us back to Los Angeles. Ardyce and Dud sold the ranch around 1958 - 1959. My grandfather made "Old Hutch" fly leaders.

Your site is the best find I have made in a long time. I love the Inyo [Owens] Valley. I sure wish time could have stood still. Your site is really teriffic and as I read more of the posts by others, I am reminded of names I heard all of my life.
